Stargift A book with autographs by chess players Mikhail Botvinnik, Anatoly Karpov, Tigran Petrosyan, Max Euwe, Mark Taimanov and others A book with autographs by chess players Mikhail Botvinnik, Anatoly Karpov, Tigran Petrosyan, Max Euwe, Mark Taimanov and others "We give you chess players — / From Alekhine to Tal ..." — the inscription begins with these lines not by chance: among the signatories are the greatest minds of domestic and foreign chess — brilliant players who have forever inscribed their names in the history of this sport. More than 50 chess players left their autographs on the pages of the book, among them the "King of Chess", twice Olympic world champion Mikhail Botvinnik; Alexander Alekhine, known for his non-standard discoveries and theoretical research in the field of chess; Mikhail Tal — an aggressive and non-standard player, nicknamed "The Magician from Riga"; Anatoly Karpov, famous for his careful preparation for the game and the ability to play for results; Tigran Petrosyan — the 9th world chess champion, holding this title for 8 years, as well as his colleague Boris Spassky, the 10th world chess champion. Another signatory, Max Euwe, distinguished himself by controlling the central positions on the chessboard and developing his pieces in harmony. A brilliant coach, chairman of the chess committee, deputy chairman of FIDE Mark Taimanov also left his autograph in the book. Judging by the date on the inscription, the book could have been signed during the 33rd drawing of the USSR Chess Championship in 1965, which took place from November 24 to December 24 in Tallinn. The tournament was won by Leonid Stein. Among the participants are Lev Polugaevsky, Mark Taimanov, Semyon Furman, Paul Keres, David Bronstein, Viktor Korchnoi, Evgeny Vasyukov, Gennady Kuzmin, Vladas Mikenas, who also left their autographs on the pages of the book. The publication itself is also interesting — the Chess Dictionary is a reference book intended for amateur and professional chess players. The book describes the basic rules of the game, as well as various tactics and strategies. In addition, the dictionary includes historical references explaining the origin and evolution of various chess concepts, which allows readers to better understand the rich history of the game. Among the signatories: Max Euwe, Lev Polugaevsky, Mark Taimanov, Miroslav Filip, Alexey Suetin, Tigran Petrosyan, Semyon Furman, Leonid Stein, Vasily Smyslov, Salomon Flor, Mikhail Tal, Ratmir Kholmov, Guillermo Esteves, Anatoly Karpov, Alexander Kotov, Gennady Kuzmin, Yuri Averbakh, Evgeny Vasyukov, Mikhail Yudovich, Viktor Korchnoi, Nikolai Krogius, Mikhail Botvinnik, Vladimir Antoshin, David Bronstein, Ivars Gipslis, Efim Geller, Anatoly Lane, Vladimir Tukmakov, Boris Spassky, Igor Bondarevsky, Friedrik Olafsson, William Lombardi, Josip Rukavina, Svetozar Gligorich, Ivo Ney, Eugenio Torre, Drazen Marovich, Bent Larsen, Ivan Radulov, Alexander Belyavsky, Lutz Espig, Robert Huebner, Miguel Quinteros, Michael Steen, Deje Forintosh, Vladas Mikenas, Paul Keres, Robert Byrne, Albin Planinz, Yuri Balashov, Hans Boehm, Vladimir Savon, Rafael Vaganian, Silvino Garcia, Wolfgang Ullman, Jan Smeikal, Miguel Cuellar, Oleg Romanishin, Levente Lendiel, Vlastimil Gort.

Antoine Le Poix, Paris, 1579 Antoine Le Pois is a naturalist and scholar of Renaissance numismatics. "Reflections on ancient medals and engravings, mostly Roman" is the first and legendary edition by Antoine Le Pois, published after the author's death with his portrait and dedication of the author's brother Nicholas to the Duke of Lorraine, whose personal physician was Antoine. The memorial nature of the publication and the high status of the scientist and his family provided virtually unlimited opportunities for the preparation and printing of the book. 48 engravings made on wooden boards were made especially for the publication. In addition to the portrait of Antoine, individual engravings with images of Mercury, Priapus, Pomon and hermaphrodite, the publication included 23 explanatory engravings in the text, and after the text 20 separate sheets with 160 Roman medals, Gnostic emblems, symbols and monograms were given. This work is one of the key ones in the numismatic science of the Renaissance. Copies with engravings from this period are rarely preserved in complete condition. The Stargift collection presents a fully complete copy in an owner's one-piece leather binding of the XVIII century. The edition from this edition was sold at Christie's auction in 2005 for 16,800 euros.

Nosov". Nikolai Nosov is a Soviet children's writer, author of the famous series of books about the adventures of Dunno. Among his works, there was a place for many other popular books that have become classics of children's literature. Nosov was known for his light and bright writing style, and his stories are still loved by children and adults alike. "The Adventures of Dunno and his Friends" is the first book in Nikolai Nosov's trilogy about the adventures of Dunno, first published in 1953-1954. Nosov's idea of "Dunno" was born under the impression of Anna Khvolson's fairy tale "The Kingdom of the Little Ones", which he read as a child. The name of the main character was also taken from the tale of Khvolson. A separate Russian-language edition of the tale of Dunno was published in 1954 by Detgiz publishing house under the title "The Adventures of Dunno and his Friends" with illustrations by Alexei Laptev. It was Laptev who created the familiar image of Dunno, which other artists began to use after that.

Lyon, edited by Professor Y.N. Wagner. Wilhelm Gaake is a zoologist and professor who has published a number of books about the animal world of different countries and continents. He was born in Pomerania in 1855 and devoted his life to the study of the animal world. He traveled the world a lot, making important discoveries for science. So, while in Australia, he was the first to discover that the echidna, being a mammal, lays eggs. Stargift A book and an autographed photograph of the 35th President of the United States John F. Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in 1962. A book and an autographed photograph of the 35th President of the United States John F. Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in 1962. John Fitzgerald Kennedy (1917-1963) was the 35th President of the United States, in office from January 1961 until his assassination in November 1963. He was born in Brookline, Massachusetts, into a wealthy and influential family. After studying at Harvard University, Kennedy served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, where he distinguished himself by rescuing his crew after their boat was sunk. As president, Kennedy is remembered for his domestic policy initiatives, including promoting civil rights, fighting poverty reduction, and stimulating the economy.  Kennedy also initiated the Apollo program, which aimed to take a man to the moon, which was subsequently implemented after his death. His speeches and speeches, including the inaugural address with the famous call "don't ask what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country," had a significant impact on American culture and politics. Tragically, his presidency was cut short by the assassination on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas, which became one of the most shocking and tragic moments in American history. Jacqueline Kennedy was the First Lady of the United States from 1961 to 1963. One of the most popular women of her time, the trendsetter of fashion, beauty and grace in America and Europe, the heroine of the gossip column. Jacqueline Kennedy is known for restoring the historical decor and atmosphere of the White House, returning antiques, paintings, antique furniture. Under Jackie Kennedy, the presidential residence, in fact, turned into a museum; the first guide to the White House was released, the proceeds from the sale of which went to finance restoration work. A guide to the White House, published by the White House Historical Association in 1962, invites the reader to take a tour of the President's House. The book tells about the history of the architectural monument, its interiors, as well as a rich collection of art. In addition, the first lady initiated a bill of Congress that transferred the property of the White House to the Smithsonian Institution, and not former presidents who hypothetically could claim ownership of their mansion.

Throughout the rest of his life, the official year of Tovstonogov's birth was considered 1913, from this year round dates were counted for awarding the highest awards, and they were celebrated twice — officially and unofficially. Tovstonogov collected theatrical masks – he collected them, brought them from everywhere, and was very proud of his collection.

Stargift A book with a handwritten address and autograph by film director Sergei Yutkevich A book with a handwritten address and autograph by film director Sergei Yutkevich The book "Shakespeare and Cinema" is dedicated to those directors who have contributed to both the history of cinema and the history of theater. The publication contains a huge number of black and white photo illustrations. The book by S. Yutkevich is informative. This is a study. The author's erudition in the chosen topic is very great. Not only the naive, inexperienced reader will find interesting and new things in it for himself, but also a specialist who is obviously interested in the topic. As the director of his book, Yutkevich is not afraid to fictionalize research, without trying to give it a fashionable appearance of pure science. He resorts to digressions, auto—comments, even to detective entertainment techniques - this is how he begins the chapter about Orson Welles, "the man who scared America" and staged perhaps the most controversial Shakespearean paintings. And this is not only and not so much even a chapter about the film adaptation of Shakespeare, as a brief sketch of the life and ideas of one of the most eccentric and tragic artists of the modern screen. The author immerses his hero not only in the atmosphere of filming, dramatic and funny, like the plays themselves, but also in an equally dramatic struggle of ideas, and from this, the American director's adaptations, different in style and level, merge into a common image of an "existentialist" Shakespeare read.

"The worst advice I've been given," King wrote, "is 'Don't listen to the critics.' In my opinion, it is necessary to listen to the opinion of critics: sometimes they point out mistakes that it is not too late to correct. Burying your head in the sand, you deprive yourself of the opportunity to find out someone else's opinion and you may not understand when you need to change something. But if you listen to criticism, you can notice your shortcomings and correct them in time." The book "Dolores Claiborne" was dedicated to his mother, Nellie Ruth Pillsbury-King. Alexander Solzhenitsyn is a Russian writer, playwright, essayist, poet, public and political figure who lived and worked in the USSR, Switzerland, the USA and Russia. The life of Alexander Solzhenitsyn turned out to be connected with almost all the turning events in the history of Russia. He was born in the year of the outbreak of the Civil War, never saw his father who died before his birth, survived collectivization with his mother, during the Great Patriotic War he tried for a long time to be sent to the front and finally left to fight in 1943. In February 1945, he, the commander of an artillery intelligence unit, was arrested right at the headquarters on the front line, sent to Moscow to Lubyanka and soon sentenced to eight years in camps - on charges of espionage and anti-Soviet activities. After being released (and simultaneously managing to recover from cancer), Solzhenitsyn achieved rehabilitation and in the early 60s was even approved by the authorities: with Khrushchev's permission, "One Day of Ivan Denisovich" was published in Novy Mir, which immediately made the writer famous. The idea to write a narrative about camp life arose from the author in the 50th year in the Ekibastuz camp, where he served his prison sentence. It was a cold winter day. Solzhenitsyn and his partner were carrying a heavy stretcher. These endless camp days were so much alike. They passed into weeks, months, and years. Thanks to this, the author came up with the idea to write the story of an ordinary prisoner and put it in one day. Since the second half of the 60s, the work has been banned in the Soviet Union and withdrawn from libraries. And only in 1990 it was published again in the writer's homeland.

This richly illustrated anniversary edition was published to mark the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution and the 10th anniversary of the launch of the first satellite and the opening of the space age. This album contains paintings by two artists dedicated to space. One of them, Andrei Sokolov, is the first Soviet science fiction artist who devoted himself to the scientific and artistic depiction of space. The second, Alexey Leonov, is twice a Hero of the Soviet Union, the first cosmonaut to go into outer space outside the ship. A number of paintings were created by A.Leonov and A.Sokolov together. The album became the debut of the creative tandem in the book chart. Paintings by A.Sokolova and A.Leonova were the apotheosis of futurological optimism and faith in the triumph of science. They talked about the imminent human exploration of the Solar system, colonization of new planets, overcoming space and time and reaching neighboring stars. Yuri Gagarin, like many others, spoke very positively about the album: "The extraordinary landscapes seen by cosmonauts and conveyed in drawings by A. Leonov have not only cognitive, scientific or aesthetic, but also deep philosophical significance. They show how extraordinarily diverse and vibrant nature is, how our ideas about the universe are expanding as man increasingly penetrates into space. In the album, reality and fantasy go together. Without imagination, it is unthinkable to move forward. And in the drawings of the young artist Andrei Sokolov, fantasy does not seem to break away from reality."

Stargift An autographed book by Artyom Tarasov An autographed book by Artyom Tarasov On the title page — "Sincerely, Tarasov. 25.11.02». Artyom Tarasov is a Soviet and Russian entrepreneur, considered to be the first Soviet entrepreneur who legally became a millionaire. In 1993, Artyom Tarasov invented the famous lottery "Russian Lotto". The resolution on granting a license to launch the lottery was signed by Yuri Luzhkov. Part of the profit was supposed to go to the budget of Moscow. Tarasov calculated that he would need $2.5 million to implement the lottery: to create a brand, rent a studio, pay for airtime, print tickets, and a distribution service. He received a loan for this amount from Stolichny Bank for a period of one year. Tarasov and his business partner Malik Saidullaev bought the first copies almost completely, spending more than $200 thousand on it. The purchased tickets were distributed by the employees of the Russian Lotto at the entrances to the subway, offering passers-by to turn on the TV at a certain time and play. Gradually, the popularity of the lottery grew. The third edition has already brought 55 thousand tickets sold. A year later, Tarasov returned the $2.5 million borrowed from the bank, he recalled in his book. In the book "Presidential Control" by academician Anatoly Tarasov, in historical retrospect, taking into account foreign experience, the fundamentals of the theory and practice of legal and organizational support not only for presidential, but also for state control in general are considered. Artyom Tarasov himself was nominated as a candidate for president of the Russian Federation in the 1996 elections, but was not registered by the election commission and did not participate in the elections.

Stargift An autographed book. Ivan Sechenov An autographed book. Ivan Sechenov An autographed book. Handwritten text: "From the bottom of my heart, dear Emma Peltz AndSechenov 12/1902" In addition to physiology and scientific psychology based on it, Sechenov was also engaged in research on labor issues. In Sechenov's time, the length of the workers' working day depended on the arbitrariness of the factory owners and their henchmen. When, in the late 80s, information began to come from abroad about reducing the working day to eight hours, Ivan Mikhailovich settled into the laboratory and made a huge number of complex experiments. After numerous studies, Sechenov published An Essay on Human Labor Movements, which is the most important scientific guide in this field and for our time. In this book, published in 1901, the following issues were considered in detail: the work of the musculoskeletal system (ODE) as a working machine (joint shapes, shoulders of muscle traction forces); mechanics of muscle contraction (factors determining muscle strength); biomechanical properties of the muscle (in particular, elastic properties of the muscle); functions the upper and lower extremities of a person as a working machine. In addition, some physical exercises were subjected to detailed biomechanical analysis: bending the arms in the vise, squatting and standing on one leg "pistol".
