Leonid Parfenov is a Russian journalist, TV presenter, documentary filmmaker, writer, and public figure.
He is the author of television and book projects "The Other Day" and "The Russian Empire", the author of many documentaries such as "17 moments of spring. 25 years later.", "The meeting place. 20 years later.", five-time winner of the TEFI, author of the YouTube channel "Parthenon".
From 2012 to 2018, he was a member of the Presidential Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights.
Leonid is currently working on a new documentary project - a trilogy about the nations that came to Russian civilization. Russian Russians, the first film, which consists of three episodes, was already released in April 2018, as was the second film, consisting of two parts, Russian Georgians, which was released in February 2020. In the future, the author plans to start working on "Russian Germans".
