On the top of the first sheet there is an inscription from the artist V.M. Vasnetsov to his daughter: "Dear my dear Tanichka, Papa V. Vasnetsov. May 1, 1914."
At the end of the text of the book, the initials of the author and the date: "V.V. / 1908, July 5." In library catalogues, this book is described under the title, without transcription of the author. But, probably, the author is V.M. Vasnetsov, and this is his only published literary work, and that is why he presented this book to his already very adult daughter.
Viktor Mikhailovich Vasnetsov is a painter, graphic artist, architect, illustrator, who became famous for his fabulous epic-historical paintings: "Three Heroes", "Knight at the Crossroads", "Alyonushka", etc.
Tatyana Viktorovna Vasnetsova is the eldest daughter of V.M. Vasnetsov, graduated from the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, became an artist, together with her brothers Alexei and Vladimir, she preserved and donated the Vasnetsov house to the state in 1948. She lived for 82 years, and was buried in the same grave with her father.
