Stargift Handwritten New Year's card signed by the artist Marc Chagall and his second wife, Valentina Brodskaya (Vava) Handwritten New Year's card signed by the artist Marc Chagall and his second wife, Valentina Brodskaya (Vava) Chagall Mark Zakharovich (Khatskelevich) (1887-1985), artist. He was born on July 7, 1887 in the town of Peskovatiki near Vitebsk (Belarus) in the family of a loader of a fish shop, where, besides Mark, there were eight other children. He received a traditional religious education at home. At the end of 1906, he came to St. Petersburg; here L. S. Bakst, M. V. Dobuzhinsky, N. K. Roerich became his mentors. In 1910-1914 he lived in Paris; in the colony of artists "Beehive" he became close to the avant—gardists, in particular with the poet G. Apollinaire and the artist R. Delaunay. Chagall's early paintings are dominated by themes of childhood, family, death, deeply personal and at the same time eternal motives ("Saturday", 1910). Over time, the theme of passionate love comes to the fore ("Over the City", 1914-1918; "Gates of the Jewish Cemetery", 1917). Sharp deformations and unreal-fabulous color contrasts of canvases created by Chagall ("Me and the Village", 1911; "Self-portrait with Seven Fingers", 1911-1912), had a great influence on the development of surrealism. In Moscow, the artist made a number of large wall panels for the Jewish Chamber Theater (1920-1922). Since 1923, Chagall settled in Paris; in the same year, a book of his memoirs "My Life" was published in Berlin. In 1933, the Nazis who came to power in Germany publicly burned the artist's paintings. In 1937, the artist took French citizenship. As he reaches the peak of fame, Chagall's manner becomes easier and more relaxed. Through the recurring themes of Vitebsk childhood and love, gloomy echoes of former and future world catastrophes float ("Time has No Shores", 1930— 1939). Since 1955, work began on the "Chagall Bible". In line with this cycle, the master also created a large number of monumental sketches, compositions based on which decorated buildings of different religious denominations. These works, together with secular decorative compositions (murals of the ceiling of the Paris Opera, 1964, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, 1965, etc.) updated the language of monumental art.

Stargift An artistic photograph from the series "Swan Lake" by Vladimir Glynin An artistic photograph from the series "Swan Lake" by Vladimir Glynin Vladimir Glynin is a modern popular Russian photographer and artist. Glynin has been known as a fashion photographer since 1998, when he began collaborating with Vogue Russia. His works have been created for L'Officiel Russia, GQ Russia, Harper's Bazaar Russia and other leading glossy publications. Since the 2010s, the author has moved away from fashion photography and engaged in art projects. Glynin's photographs resemble abstract compositions due to a special multi-exposure technique, the result of which viewers often mistake for painted digital effects, although all his photos are created manually and are not retouched. Vladimir Glynin has assembled a unique team of people with whom he has worked productively on many projects for several years. He managed to relive this story anew, eliminating ballet plasticity from the movements and saturating the emotions he lived in this role. The heroes of his art history were the leading soloists of the Bolshoi Theater Sergey Filin and Artyom Shpilevsky and model Svetlana Shestakova.

His works have been created for L'Officiel Russia, GQ Russia, Harper's Bazaar Russia and other leading glossy publications. Glynin's photographs resemble abstract compositions due to a special multi-exposure technique, the result of which viewers often mistake for painted digital effects, although all his photos are created manually and are not retouched. The world-famous ballet Swan Lake was deliberately chosen by Vladimir Glynin. The author has been looking for ways to visualize the legendary plot for a long time, in which he found a wide range of human feelings and emotions combined with vivid images of the main characters, and which still leaves no one indifferent. That's how he, a former Bolshoi Ballet dancer, came up with the idea of a photo story of Swan Lake with its incredible range of relationships between Good and Evil, Black and White. And when the ballet legend merges with black and white photography, you already have a synthesis of ballet art, photography and fashion. Each photo of this project is an independent work of art, with a certain intonation inherent only to it, but when they are put together, a powerful, dramatic artistic canvas appears.

Stargift A handwritten letter from the artist Ilya Repin to Korney Chukovsky A handwritten letter from the artist Ilya Repin to Korney Chukovsky May 24, 1913. Penates Dear Korney Ivanovich When you were building last year, you asked that in order to avoid constant small expenses from M. N. Galkin, you would be believed in debt, and for this, my card was given to Galkin in the form of a recommendation with a recommendation that you are a reliable payer. Now he is desperate that you don't pay (refuse!) He's thinking about a trial... After all, he will start to stick me around ... and then either with the police (Finnish) and start selling your cottage. .. The troubles are huge, and I wonder if, with very good earnings, you can't at least piece by piece, even for a hundred rubles, as promised to them. I have the clerk now. Your Il. Repin. The exhibit is accompanied by the conclusion of the handwriting expertise of the Department of forensic examinations of the ECC Vector, which carries out handwriting expertise for investigative and judicial authorities both in Moscow and in the regions of Russia, confirming that the letter was written by Ilya Repin. Chukovsky and Ilya Repin were close friends. The famous painter often stayed at the writer's house, as evidenced by Chukovsky's diary. Moreover, the two masters influenced each other creatively. Chukovsky persuaded Repin to write a book of memoirs, "The Far Near." Repin came up with the name of his handwritten humorous almanac "Chukokkala" for the writer — a combination of the surname with the name of the place Kuokkala, where friends rested. Interestingly, this place has now been renamed "Repino". There was a real cult of Repin in Korney Ivanovich's house. On the walls hung his kuokkalsky photographs, a snapshot from Repin's portrait of Chukovsky with Repin's own handwritten signature. The handwritten almanac "Chukokkala" contains dozens of Repin drawings and notes. Chukovsky preserved more than a hundred letters from Repin from 1907-1929. And finally, there are many entries about the famous artist in Korney Ivanovich's Diary. In particular, K.I.'s trips to Kuokkala in 1925, his last visits to the "Penates", and conversations with Repin are recorded in detail. One can also recall Chukovsky's memoir book Ilya Repin, which was published many times. Until now, it was believed that Repin paid for Chukovsky's house out of his own pocket, and then he returned it for many years. It was much more complicated... Provenance: archive of I. S. Shaikovich, before the revolution the director of the Russian school in Kuokkala, the second husband of Lidia Ivanovna Shishkina (first husband - B. Ridinger), poet, after the revolution the consul of Yugoslavia in Finland, etc. After the revolution, he saved the archive of Chukovsky, who was at the latter's dacha in Kuokkala. Ivan Stepanovich Shaikovich (1876-1948) was a Serbian diplomat in Russia, the Consul General of Yugoslavia in Finland, in Sweden, Doctor of Philosophy, professor of Oriental languages and Serbo–Croatian, a great connoisseur of Russian poetry and painting. The exhibit has cultural, historical, and collectible value at the museum level.

Stargift Autograph by Henri Matisse Autograph by Henri Matisse An autograph Henri Matisse is a famous French artist and leader of the Fauvist movement. He is known throughout the world primarily as a great researcher of color and a reformer of painting. An entire epoch in the history of European art is associated with his name. One of the first people to appreciate the talent of the French master was the Russian collector Sergei Ivanovich Shchukin. He invited Henri Matisse to Russia. In the autumn of 1911, the artist visited Moscow and St. Petersburg. Matisse spoke about Russia with admiration, especially inspired by the touching simplicity of the icons. In 1909, Shchukin ordered two canvases for his mansion, "Music" and "Dance", which are now kept in the Hermitage. Matisse completed these works in 1910, exhibiting the works at the Autumn Salon. No critic except Guillaume Apollinaire recognized Matisse's works as a success. Shchukin was alerted by the words of the critic and decided to refuse to take the paintings, but two days later he sent Matisse a telegram acknowledging his weakness and asking him to send the works.

Stargift Banksy art object on an authentic element of the Israeli-Palestinian Wall Banksy art object on an authentic element of the Israeli-Palestinian Wall An art object on an authentic element of the Israeli-Palestinian Wall Banksy is the pseudonym of an anonymous English underground street art artist, political activist and filmmaker who has been working since the 1990s. Banksy's real name and origin are unknown, and there is a lot of controversy around his biography in society. Banksy's works are recognized all over the world, and in 2016, under the pseudonym of Banksy, the book "Wall and Piece" ("Wall and the World") was published. Banksy graffiti, made in the technique of screen printing, appear in different cities of the planet and become a whole event in the life of modern society. The artist works in the style of satirical street art, touching on acute social topics: thoughtless consumption, social inequality, the age of control, environmental protection, the future for children. The underground trend peculiar to Banksy, as a form of protest and opposition to official art and popular culture, is due to the harsh laws of the United Kingdom against those who engage in graffiti. This left its mark on the content of his work. One of Banksy's favorite images was a rat. The rat is a vivid symbol of the underground, an underground fighter for independence, one of the few creatures from the animal world that was able to resist all attempts at destruction by humans. An animal that, thanks to an incredible mind for such a small animal, has managed not only to survive in the underground conditions of urban sewers, basements and attics, but also increases its population from time to time to terrifying proportions, despite poisons and traps. Banksy noted: "I painted rats for three whole years, and then someone told me: what a talented anagram of the word "art" (English rat and art, respectively). And I had to pretend that I had known about it all my life." The Stargift collection features an art object made on an original fragment of the Israeli-Palestinian wall. The element depicting the wall was made by Banksy himself and painted by local Palestinian artists in the original Banksy style. The fragment shows an image of a rat with a slingshot in its paws and the symbolic signature "freedom". In 2005, Banksy visited the West Bank and painted his first works on the wall separating Israel and Palestine. Over the next fifteen years, he left a dozen more graffiti, organized exhibitions and performances in support of Palestinian Arabs, and even opened his own hotel in Bethlehem. Authentic Banksy works were cut out of the walls and auctioned.

Stargift A handwritten postcard with an autograph and a wish from the artist Marc Chagall A handwritten postcard with an autograph and a wish from the artist Marc Chagall The content of the letter: "Beloved Bella Naumovna. Where are you, if in the city - come soon. I'm leaving for Paris on Tuesday evening. If you are not in the city, goodbye. And I hope the connection with you will not be lost. Devoted Marc Chagall." The postcard was signed on August 19, 1923 in Berlin, a few weeks before Chagall and his family moved to Paris at the invitation of Ambroise Vollard. Everyone knows the love story of Marc Chagall and his muse Bella, whom he married in 1915. But few people are familiar with the story of another Bella, who occupied an important place in the artist's life.  In 1908-1910, Marc Chagall visited Narva, staying at the estate of the famous Narva businessman Nahum Hermont. He came at the invitation of lawyer Gregory Goldberg, who was married to one of the Hermont sisters. Here he painted several of his works (for example, "Portrait of the artist's Sister"), in which you can meet Bella Hermont, the daughter of a merchant of the first guild. He met her at Cape Ferdinandshof in 1908.   Chagall later wrote in his autobiographical book "My Life": "... I remember spacious rooms, shady trees on the seashore and lovely women: the lawyer's wife and her sister Hermont." The lawyer's wife, Anna Naumovna, had five sisters. In a letter to his sister Anyuta, the artist invites her to come to stay in Narva at the cape to the Hermont sisters, saying that "he will be glad to introduce her to Bella Naumovna — not at all provincial." They were connected with Bella Hermont not only by a deep feeling, but also by a common interest. She enjoyed learning to draw and was equally happy to teach Moishe French. Later, in Berlin and Paris, she would become a French teacher for his daughter Ida, already being the wife of the famous pianist Vitaly Yakovlevich Schnee.  So, the young artist, at that time little known to anyone, found himself between two Bellas: Bella (Bertha) from Vitebsk, whom he had already wooed by that time, and Bella (Baila, as she was called in the family) from Narva. The fact that Chagall and Bella Hermont had a secret affair was well known in her family, but this topic was never widely discussed.

Stargift Sketch for the cartoon "Hedgehog in the fog" with an autograph by the artist Yuri Norstein Sketch for the cartoon "Hedgehog in the fog" with an autograph by the artist Yuri Norstein Sketch "Hedgehog and Horse in the fog" in 1999 for the animated film "Hedgehog in the fog". The artist is Francesca Yarbusova. Paper, offset lithography. The autograph is dated May 20, 2022. Yuri Norstein is a Soviet and Russian director of animated films and an animation artist. He created most of the works while working at the Soyuzmultfilm studio. The author of such famous cartoons as "The Hedgehog in the Fog", "The Tale of Fairy Tales", "The Fox and the Hare" and many others. Francesca Yarbusova is a Soviet and Russian production designer of animated films, the wife of director Yuri Norstein. Laureate of the USSR State Prize and the Prize of the President of the Russian Federation. "Hedgehog in the Fog" is a Soviet animated film directed by Yuri Norstein in 1975 at the Soyuzmultfilm studio. The work is based on the fairy tale story of the same name by Sergei Kozlov, which was significantly revised during the writing of the script. The main character, like the whole film, was drawn by the cartoonist Francesca Yarbusova, the director's wife. The musical background was created by the composer Mikhail Meerovich. Actors Maria Vinogradova (Hedgehog), Vyacheslav Nevinny (Little Bear), Alexey Batalov (author's text behind the scenes) were involved in the dubbing. The image of the Hedgehog was created the longest. Norstein recalled that the search for the image of the hero continued, even when the scenery had already been created and filming had begun. The director's main complaint was that the artist Francesca Yarbusova (the director of the cartoon and Norstein's wife) turned out "not hedgehogs, but hedgehogs." In order to achieve a childish manner of drawing, Francesca drew the hero with her left hand. The researchers note that the style of the film was influenced by the cultural traditions of different countries and peoples (including theater and Oriental painting, works by Paul Klee, Andrei Rublev, Yuri Vasnetsov). The tape contains references to some works of cinema. The film won prizes at international film festivals in Tehran, Gijon, Chicago, Melbourne and others. In 1979, the creators of the film Norstein, Zhukovsky and Yarbusova became laureates of the USSR State Prize in Literature, Art and architecture "for animated films "The Fox and the Hare" (1973), "The Heron and the Crane" (1974), "Hedgehog in the Fog" (1975)". In 2003, at the International Animation Festival "Laputa" in Japan, according to a survey of 140 film critics and animators from different countries, "Hedgehog in the Fog" was recognized as the best cartoon of all time.

According to legend, no one knows the origin of the birth of birds, but on the planet of Secrets there is a find in the form of half an egg, in which there is a trace of the progenitor bird. The inhabitants of the planet of Secrets use these tables in temples for a mystical ritual. They sit down at the table, knowing that the desire will be fulfilled only by the one who drinks tea at it. The desire must necessarily be within the limits of a certain knowledge — to find out some serious secret that gnaws at the one who came to the temple for answers.

As a rule, these self-sufficient toys live alone and lead a nomadic lifestyle, in which they see the meaning of existence for themselves. Giraffe and boy are omnivorous – they feed on both plants and animals. Formed from forgotten toys, they contain information about the past of children around the world (their behavior and character) and serve as the basis of the memory of their planet. In addition, these characters are often hunted by residents of other planets: their body parts are extremely valuable on the market, in particular on the planet of Brands. Due to their ability to break down into parts and move, hunting them is extremely difficult. If one of the parts is stolen, it will always tend back to the creature like a magnet. The Giraffe and boy sculpture was presented at the Blazar 2020 Contemporary Art Fair.

He also added about the desire to always remain "positive." Later, the same experiment was repeated 72 times.
