A hand-drawn drawing by the poet Joseph Brodsky

Joseph Brodsky is a Russian and American poet, essayist, playwright and translator, teacher. Winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1987, poet laureate of the United States in 1991-1992. Joseph Brodsky was a talented draughtsman, his style of painting is akin to Pushkin's: mostly sketches with a pen, sometimes colorful pictures with crayons. Joseph Alexandrovich drew, as a rule, casually: on the margins of manuscripts, on the title pages of sheet music, on scraps of notebook pages, in letters to friends and relatives, sometimes replacing the text with drawings. The object will become a worthy exhibit of a private collection, decorate the office of a scientist or creative figure, recalling the greatness of Russian literature and the genius of Joseph Brodsky.
