Nosov". Nikolai Nosov is a Soviet children's writer, author of the famous series of books about the adventures of Dunno. Among his works, there was a place for many other popular books that have become classics of children's literature. Nosov was known for his light and bright writing style, and his stories are still loved by children and adults alike. "The Adventures of Dunno and his Friends" is the first book in Nikolai Nosov's trilogy about the adventures of Dunno, first published in 1953-1954. Nosov's idea of "Dunno" was born under the impression of Anna Khvolson's fairy tale "The Kingdom of the Little Ones", which he read as a child. The name of the main character was also taken from the tale of Khvolson. A separate Russian-language edition of the tale of Dunno was published in 1954 by Detgiz publishing house under the title "The Adventures of Dunno and his Friends" with illustrations by Alexei Laptev. It was Laptev who created the familiar image of Dunno, which other artists began to use after that.

Tales of the Thousand and One Nights is a monument to medieval Arabic and Persian literature, a collection of short stories united by the story of the Persian king Shahriyar and his wife named Shahrazada (Scheherazade). The question of the origin and development of "1001 nights" has not been fully clarified to date. Attempts to search for the ancestral home of this collection in India, made by its first researchers, have not yet received sufficient justification. The prototype of the "Nights" on Arab soil was probably a translation of the Persian collection "Hezar Efsane" (A Thousand Fairy Tales) made in the tenth century. This translation, called "A Thousand Nights" or "A Thousand and One Nights", was, as Arab writers of that time testify, very popular in the capital of the eastern caliphate, in Baghdad. We cannot judge his character, since only the story framing him, which coincides with the frame of "1001 nights", has reached us. Various stories were inserted into this convenient frame at different times, sometimes whole cycles of stories, in turn framed, such as "The Tale of the Hunchback", "The Porter and the Three Girls" and others. Individual fairy tales of the collection, before their inclusion in the written text, often existed independently, sometimes in a more widespread form. It can be reasonably assumed that the first editors of the text of fairy tales were professional storytellers who borrowed their material directly from oral sources; under the dictation of the storytellers, fairy tales were recorded by booksellers who sought to satisfy the demand for the manuscripts of "1001 nights".
