Gift books "One Thousand and One Nights" translated from Arabic by M.A.Salye (8 volumes) Gift books "One Thousand and One Nights" translated from Arabic by M.A.Salye (8 volumes) Exclusive leather–bound books are more than just books. The cover made of genuine calfskin made in Italy, pony skin, precious stones, voluminous patterns, a luxurious gift case turn these rare editions into works of art. The book covers are handmade, and every inch of leather is the result of the painstaking work of talented craftsmen. Gift books will enhance the interior of the living room and study, add to the bibliophile's collection and become a family heirloom. Such books do not age, and every year they are valued more and more as antiques over which time has no control... Tales of the Thousand and One Nights is a monument to medieval Arabic and Persian literature, a collection of short stories united by the story of the Persian king Shahriyar and his wife named Shahrazada (Scheherazade). The question of the origin and development of "1001 nights" has not been fully clarified to date. Attempts to search for the ancestral home of this collection in India, made by its first researchers, have not yet received sufficient justification. The prototype of the "Nights" on Arab soil was probably a translation of the Persian collection "Hezar Efsane" (A Thousand Fairy Tales) made in the tenth century. This translation, called "A Thousand Nights" or "A Thousand and One Nights", was, as Arab writers of that time testify, very popular in the capital of the eastern caliphate, in Baghdad. We cannot judge his character, since only the story framing him, which coincides with the frame of "1001 nights", has reached us. Various stories were inserted into this convenient frame at different times, sometimes whole cycles of stories, in turn framed, such as "The Tale of the Hunchback", "The Porter and the Three Girls" and others. Individual fairy tales of the collection, before their inclusion in the written text, often existed independently, sometimes in a more widespread form. It can be reasonably assumed that the first editors of the text of fairy tales were professional storytellers who borrowed their material directly from oral sources; under the dictation of the storytellers, fairy tales were recorded by booksellers who sought to satisfy the demand for the manuscripts of "1001 nights".

" Nikolai Gogol This is real gaiety, sincere, relaxed, without affectation, without prudery. And in some places, what poetry! What sensitivity! All this is so unusual in our current literature that I have not come to my senses until now. I was told that when the publisher entered the printing house where "Evenings" were printed, the typesetters began to snort and snort, holding their mouths with their hands. The factor explained their gaiety by confessing to him that the typesetters were dying of laughter while typing his book. Moliere and Fielding would probably be happy to make their typesetters laugh. I congratulate the audience on a truly fun book, and I cordially wish the author further success…

A gift book in a leather cover "Tales of Russian foreigners. " A gift book in a leather cover "Tales of Russian foreigners. " "Tales of Russian Foreigners" - under such a rather exotic title for a modern reader, a collection of unique fairy tales of the multinational Russian Empire was published in 1890. The publication, which was the result of a long academic expedition to Siberia and the Volga region, the Baltic States and Finland, the Caucasus and Transcaucasia, carefully prepared by the first female professor-ethnographer Vera Kharuzina, turned out to be extremely bright and original. Fantastic legends about the origin of tribes and their settlement, bizarre plots that paint an equally reliable picture of housing and clothing, food and family life, primitive beliefs and rituals, still amaze the imagination. The usual sorcerers and witches appear here in the images of the treacherous abaga and devas, wizards - in the images of great shamans, and the glorious heroes Ai-Moko and Amiran surpass the Atlanteans themselves. Fabulous, semi-epic, all these characters eloquently testify to how integral, unified and at the same time stunningly diverse the culture of mankind is…

Leather-bound book "Collection of fairy tales by A. S. Pushkin" Leather-bound book "Collection of fairy tales by A. S. Pushkin" The Tales of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin is a cycle of poetic works by the poet, written in the 1820s and 1830s. "What a delight these fairy tales are! Everyone is a poem,– Pushkin wrote, impressed by the stories of his nanny Arina Rodionovna, who brought to him the splendor and wisdom of folk art. – What a luxury, what a meaning, what a sense in every saying of ours! What gold!" Fairy tales teach children that good will always be rewarded and evil punished, the brave and honest will win, the patient will wait, and the truth will prevail. This is best expressed in folk tales. Lived feelings together with fairy-tale characters make us kinder and more merciful, bolder and stronger. His works help to understand what is good and what is bad, teach you to make the right choice in life and do the right thing. They also warn against betrayal and deception. Many of his novels and poems teach the reader to be attentive to the people around them, to appreciate them for their actions, for their feelings, and not for the positions they occupy. Content: Ruslan and Lyudmila The tale of the Fisherman and the Fish The Tale of the Golden Cockerel The Hussar The tale of the priest and his employee Balda The tale of the Dead Princess and her heroes The tale of Tsar Saltan, about his son, the glorious and mighty hero Guidon Saltanovich, and about the beautiful Swan Princess The song of prophetic Oleg Groom The Bear The tale of the Mutt merchant and his employee Balda Mermaid
