The leather-bound book "One Thousand and One Nights"

Disappointed in women, considering them all to be dissolute, King Shahriyar calls an innocent girl to the palace every evening, spends the night with her, and executes her in the morning. This happens until the vizier's daughter Scheherazade is brought to the king. Every night, Scheherazade tells the king a fascinating story, interrupting at the most interesting place, thereby prolonging his life there. This continues for 1001 consecutive nights. When Scheherazade's fantasy ran out, she brought the king three children born to him and asked for mercy. King Shahriyar replied that he had pardoned her long ago, even before the birth of her first child.

The collection "One Thousand and One Nights" consists of a thousand fairy tales of Scheherazade. Thematically, all fairy tales can be divided into three categories. The first category is heroic fairy tales. They are more like epic and romantic stories about brave knights, handsome princes and wise nobles. The language of these tales is exquisite and majestic. The second category is adventurous fairy tales. There are love stories and palace intrigues. The personal life of rich merchants and nobles with all its details. And the third category is roguish fairy tales. In them, the life of the common people is described in simple language. Folk heroes, for the most part, are shown as petty crooks and cheats. The well-known fairy tale "Aladdin and the magic lamp" is just from this category.
