Gift books in leather cover "Decameron", D.Boccaccio (2 volumes)

Most likely, Boccaccio wrote the Decameron between 1348 and 1353 in the very form in which we have the opportunity to read it today. The widest range of both tragic and comic worldviews makes him a masterpiece, interesting to descendants no less than to Boccaccio's contemporaries. Stylistically, it is the most perfect example of Italian classical prose, and its influence on Renaissance literature throughout Europe is difficult to overestimate.

"Decameron” begins with the escape of three men and seven women from the plague-ridden Florence to a rich country mansion. Artless, sparkling, filled with humor, erotic scenes, religious reflections. Hence the name “Decameron". A collection of one hundred short stories
