Charles de Coster's most famous work, The Legend of Ulen Spiegel, is published in a translation by Arkady Georgievich Gornfeld. The book is illustrated by drawings by the Belgian artist Amede Linen, on which he worked for more than three decades. The master recreates in them, in hundreds of small household details, the everyday life of Flanders during its struggle for independence.
The book is decorated with a preface by Romain Rolland and an essay about its illustrator.
Numerous comments make it possible to fully take into account all the details of the author's text.
