Bernard Shaw is an Irish playwright and novelist, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature and one of the most famous Irish literary figures. One of the founders of the London School of Economics and Political Science, the second most popular playwright in the English theater.
The text of the note:
«I don't think the decision will have the effect you anticipate. Even if it has, the evils involved will be less than those of an opposite finding would have been. But the plot in question was too old to settle the general question" ("I don't think this decision will have the effect you expect. Even if this is the case, there will be fewer evils associated with it than there would be with the opposite conclusion. The plot in question was too old to solve the main issue").
The outstanding Irish playwright and novelist George Bernard Shaw is one of two people in history who have been awarded two widely known and respected awards together - the writer received both the Nobel Prize in Literature and the Oscar for the screenplay of the film Pygmalion.
His most valuable contribution to the history of drama was noted in many countries, including the USA, New Zealand and the USSR, where Bernard Shaw traveled in 1931 for a personal meeting with Joseph Stalin.
