Before writing his novels, Arthur Haley did a lot of preparatory work: he studied thoroughly the field of activity about which he was going to write. Over the years of his biography, he had to study even job descriptions to accurately convey the plot. For the novel "Hotel", he read 27 books on how to run a hotel business.

When working on Wheels, he spent days at factories specializing in the automotive industry in Detroit.

At the very beginning of his career, Haley wrote screenplays and plays. His popularity was brought by "Runway 08", which was later reworked by the writer into a novel.

Hayley's most popular novel can be recognized as "Airport".

Based on the novel "Airport" in 1970, a film was made with leading Hollywood actors - ten Oscar nominations. After this film adaptation, three more sequels were released.
