Leather-bound gift book "Dangerous liaisons" by Choderlo de Laclo, in a case
The novel in letters "Dangerous Connections" became a real sensation in French literature of its time – at the end of the XVIII century it withstood about fifty reprints, and later was translated into all the world's leading languages and repeatedly filmed.
Why does this book arouse no less keen interest among readers today? Most likely because the type of the main antiheroes of the novel – the vicious, intelligent socialite Marquise de Merteuil and the cynical seducer Vicomte de Valmont, masterfully playing with other people's feelings and destinies with lies and pretense - is still as common as in the days of Chauderloh de Laclos.
This edition of the works has earned the reputation of being the best in the history of printing. The binding, decorated with gold and pancake embossing, a three-sided gold trim and a colored decorative backing give the publication a stylish and respectable look at the same time.
