Plutarchos was an ancient Greek writer, historian and moral philosopher. He received an encyclopedic education in Athens, where he was subsequently awarded honorary citizenship. The collection "Table conversations" consists of nine books of discussions about politics, etiquette, winemaking, cooking, music, literature and health.
A number of questions are solved in a relaxed manner: Is it necessary to philosophize over wine? Should the host of the house indicate to the guests their places at the table or leave the choice of place to them? Which was born earlier, the chicken or the egg? Why does Homer put fist fighting in the first place of all kinds of gymnastic competitions, followed by wrestling and, finally, running? Why are Lycopods horses considered skittish? Why are pine, fir and similar trees resistant to grafting?
