During his lifetime, Herbert Spencer was recognized as one of the most outstanding thinkers of the 19th century. The idea of evolution, which became central to his work, established a radically new view of the structure and development of society. Using Darwin's theory in relation to his own evolutionary teachings, Spencer explored society like a living organism. "Years of disordered health" and a decline in strength brought randomness to the publication of the results of the philosopher's scientific research. "Justice" — the fourth and most important, in Spencer's opinion, part of the fundamental treatise "Foundations of Ethics" — was published long before the rest of the work was written. To this day, "Justice" has not lost its relevance, and its importance in the promotion of evolutionist ideas is still appreciated as the highest achievement of sociological science.
