Are we able to actually know the world, or, by learning, create chimeras that have nothing to do with reality, which we then take for something that really exists? For the first time in the history of mankind, Immanuel Kant (1724-1804), a German scientist from Konigsberg, asked this question. By putting at the forefront not the surrounding world, but the person comprehending it, Kant produced a Copernican revolution in philosophy. In this work, he convincingly proves that our knowledge of the world is not a passive reflection of being, but the result of human creative activity. Kant's teaching is based on the unconditional priority of practical reason, as well as the principle of personal freedom that follows from it. The scientist's conclusions will be interesting to anyone who is interested in philosophy and inclined to independent thinking.
