The book "Poems and poems" with a handwritten wish and an autograph

On the title page is a wish from the author: "Dear Tamara Pavlovna/ I wish you always, everywhere, and in everything all the best /with sensual gratitude/ 12/28/1992."

Rasul Gamzatov is an outstanding Soviet and Dagestani poet, author of works in Russian and Avar languages. His work is characterized by a deep understanding and love for his native land and the culture of the people. He is known for his poems, which stand out for the richness of language, depth of thought and attention to the beauty of his native nature. Gamzatov is one of the most influential and revered poets in the history of Dagestan literature and culture.

The craving for poetry was awakened in little Rasul at the age of 9, it was then that he wrote his first poem. One of the poet's most famous works, "Cranes," was dedicated to the soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War, whom the authors compared to a wedge of flying cranes. The crane theme was inspired by a visit to a monument in Hiroshima to a Japanese girl named Sadako Sasaki, who suffered from leukemia after the atomic explosion in Hiroshima.
