Ray Douglas Bradbury is an American writer known for the dystopia "Fahrenheit 451", the cycle of short stories "The Martian Chronicles" and the partially autobiographical novel "Dandelion Wine".
The writer became interested in literature at school. He wrote his first works at the age of 12. The first popularity of the author was brought by the "Martian Chronicles", a chain of short stories connected by a common plot, and the novel "Fahrenheit 451", which was published in Playboy magazine, and subsequently filmed.
Bradbury has created more than 800 literary works, including several novels and novellas, hundreds of short stories, dozens of plays, a number of articles, notes and poems. His stories have formed the basis for a number of film adaptations, theatrical productions and musical compositions.
Bradbury's main achievement is that he managed to arouse readers' interest in the genres of science fiction and fantasy, which before him were on the periphery of modern culture. "I don't think about death, because I will always be here. This box with my films and shelves with my books convince me that I have a hundred or two years left," the writer reasoned about the relationship between time and his work.
