The prototype of these cufflinks was a commemorative badge in 1957, when the launch of the first orbiting Soviet Earth satellite became an outstanding event for all mankind.
The oval horizontally elongated icon depicts the starry sky, a view of the Earth from space and a satellite taking off diagonally.
Cufflinks are much more concise than the badge due to the absence of inscriptions.
