Bronze sculpture "Warrior 2"

The whole body is permeated with an impulse that has not yet become a blow, but has already determined the outcome of the duel. In this anticipation of action, the philosophy of iaido is embodied: an art where every gesture is brought to automatism, and victory is born not in attack, but in clarity of intent.

A samurai's swordsmanship was determined by the number of swings of the sword —the fewer of them, the higher the warrior's skill. Over time, Japan has developed a whole school of "One—punch Art" - iaido. This sculpture visualizes the idea of complete concentration before a lightning-fast action. The volume of the figure is based on the play of draperies: the folds of clothing seem to develop in a stream of air, while they are cast with precision, making the bronze seem like solidified matter. Each curve is thoughtful and expressive, as if it captures the inner silence before a flash of movement.
