In the novel "Uncle Pigtail" by American writer Jean Webster, the main character is a young girl, a ward of the orphanage; in letters to her guardian, she talks about her life, dreams, sorrows and joys, friendship and love. The writer transferred much of her life to the pages of the book.
The text of the repeatedly filmed novel is given in the translation by Elena Belyakova.
The book is decorated with funny drawings by the writer herself, as well as illustrations by American artist John Ree Neill, who designed Frank Baum's first books about the magical land of Oz.
