The adventurous novel by the famous French intellectual Andre Gide "The Dungeons of the Vatican" was first published in 1914, and has been reprinted several times since then. In this edition, it is given in translation by M. Bronnikov, edited by A. A. Smirnov and A. N. Tikhonov.
