"Three Comrades" is a novel by Erich Maria Remarque, on which he began work in 1932. The novel was completed and published in the Danish publishing house Gyldendal under the title "Kammerater" in 1936. In 1958 it was translated into Russian.
Post-war Germany in the mid-twenties of the last century. Three friends – Gottfried Lenz, Otto Koester and Robert Lokamp – are trying to get used to a peaceful life after the horrors they had to face at the front.
