The Code of the samurai, the rules and norms of behavior of a person who has embarked on the Path of a Bushido Warrior, have their roots deep in antiquity. The philosophy of samurai was formed both under the influence of rational factors - historical, geographical, social, and under the influence of the spiritual foundations of Japanese society - Buddhism, Shintoism, and Zen teachings. All this is reflected in the works of the great warriors Yamamoto Tsunetomo (1659-1719) and Miyamoto Musashi (1584-1645). "Hagakure" ("Hidden in the Foliage"), "The Book of the Five Rings", the writings of other outstanding generals constitute the Code of the Samurai - a set of rules and norms of behavior that have been followed by many generations of Japanese warriors. Like all editions of the Great Generals series, the book is provided with detailed historical and biographical comments; the text is accompanied by hundreds of unique illustrations and photographs, many of which the modern reader will get acquainted with for the first time.
