The two-volume book "Russia. The Country and People" compares favorably with previous publications of this kind by the absence of prejudice inherent in the reports of Western European travelers in our country before. German writer and publisher Hermann Luxuriously managed to compile a surprisingly fascinating book from texts by various authors, including for modern Russian readers. Because the past does not disappear without a trace, continuing to exist in the memory and collective unconscious of the people, like annual rings in the trunk of a tree, as long as it is able to grow on earth.
