Spitz's popularity did not decrease after the 1972 Olympic Games, he returned home not only with gold medals, but also with successful advertising contracts. Part of the profit was supposed to go to the budget of Moscow. Tarasov calculated that he would need $2.5 million to implement the lottery: to create a brand, rent a studio, pay for airtime, print tickets, and a distribution service. He received a loan for this amount from Stolichny Bank for a period of one year. Tarasov and his business partner Malik Saidullaev bought the first copies almost completely, spending more than $200 thousand on it. The purchased tickets were distributed by the employees of the Russian Lotto at the entrances to the subway, offering passers-by to turn on the TV at a certain time and play. Gradually, the popularity of the lottery grew. The third edition has already brought 55 thousand tickets sold. A year later, Tarasov returned the $2.5 million borrowed from the bank, he recalled in his book.
