John got his pseudonym after he left the David Lee Roth band and joined the shock rock band Marilyn Manson, replacing the previous guitarist Zim Zam. After leaving the band Marilyn Manson, he became a member of the industrial metal band Rob Zombie. John 5 is the author of many hits for these artists.
John 5 is an avid collector of Kiss Group products, focusing on merchandise, clothing and promotional items from 1973 to 1983. This extensive collection includes an entire room in John's house and his separate Instagram account.
