Francis Albert Sinatra is an American singer (kruner), actor, film director, producer and showman. He won the Grammy Award eleven times. He was famous for his romantic style of song performance and the "velvety" timbre of his voice.
In the 20th century, Sinatra became a legend not only of the musical world, but of every aspect of American culture. When he died, some journalists wrote: "To hell with the calendar. The day of Frank Sinatra's death is the end of the XX century." Sinatra's singing career started back in the 1930s, and by the end of his life he was considered the standard of musical style and taste. Frank Sinatra was awarded the Golden Globe, the Screen Actors Guild of the United States and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and a year before his death he was awarded the highest award in the United States — the Congressional Gold Medal.
