Eduard Uspensky is a Russian writer, screenwriter, author of children's books and winner of many awards and prizes in the field of literature. He came up with many popular characters: Cheburashka with the Crocodile Gena, the heroes of Prostokvashino, the Kolobkov Brothers and others.
"Baba Yaga vs!" is a cycle of 3 Soviet hand-drawn cartoons from 1979, released by Soyuzmultfilm Studio for the 1980 Summer Olympics. Interestingly, Ouspensky created a non-standard image of Baba Yaga in the cartoon, she is presented not as a traditional evil old woman from fairy tales, but as an active and modern character. She is fashionable, owns her own business, struggles with various problems and even "competes" with other fairy-tale characters.
