Eduard Uspensky is a Russian writer, playwright and screenwriter, TV presenter, author of the novels "Crocodile Gena and his Friends", "Uncle Fyodor, the Dog and the Cat", "Little Guarantee Men" and many others.
Ouspensky acted as the author of cartoon scripts, many of which are loved by more than one generation of viewers. His characters, Crocodile Gena and Cheburashka, have been living in several cartoons for several decades now. When creating characters, he was inspired by real people and even objects – so, a defective toy became the prototype of Cheburashka.
Equally successful were the adventures of friends from Prostokvashino – Uncle Fyodor, Sharik, Matroskin's cat. And they also found their screen incarnation.
The film adaptation of children's stories took place under the strict supervision of the writer. Eduard Uspensky acted as a screenwriter for all cartoons based on his own stories. Based on the author's short stories and novels, two feature films were created, and later a TV series was filmed.
