Mammoth tusk composition "Smooth sailing of a dragon boat"

There are 3,225 figurines inside and outside the ship's hull, each with an individual facial expression. Some play the zither or lead a game of chess, others read and draw, admire the landscape, leaning on the railing, or compose poetry by the riverbank. These scenes create an image of peaceful prosperity and serene joy.

Various techniques are used in the work: openwork carving, bas-relief, volumetric plastic, traditional spike-groove joints and inlay. Thanks to careful fitting, all the elements are connected without visible joints, forming a complete and harmonious composition. The precision of the performance emphasizes the high level of skill and virtuosity of the author.

The work symbolizes a fair wind, favorable prospects and a return with a rich cargo of success — an image of confident progress and achieved prosperity.
