Chess made of mammoth tusk and ebony "Selenus Lux"

The Selenus-style chess pieces resemble delicate and graceful towers. They have an upward tendency, characteristic of the Gothic style. They are complemented by the pomposity of the early Baroque in the form of carved ornaments. The king has a characteristic pommel in the form of a crown with a cross at the very top. Similar figures of elephants and queens differ mainly in size - a larger queen is immediately noticeable on the playing field. The figure of the horse has a characteristic profile.

KADUN craftsmen chose rare natural materials for the manufacture of the Selenus Lux set: mammoth tusk, African wenge wood, ebony, bird's eye maple and walnut root.

The body of the chessboard is made of an array of tropical wenge in a rich dark coffee color. The dark cells are made of walnut root, which has a beautiful decorative pattern. In contrast, they are played by light cells made of maple "bird's eye", the pattern of which includes many small curls.

The light figures are made of mammoth tusk. This is an ancient unique material of almost white color. They are complemented by dark figures made of black ironwood - African ebony.

The chess set includes a massive chessboard with a removable top cover. At the bottom of the board there is a soft velvet bed with separate cells for each piece. The set is packed in a handmade ash and makassar case.
