Но и там, где от исторической хроники Ветхий Завет переходит к притче или использует язык высокого мифа, он не перестает быть документом, отражающим реальность человеческой жизни. Именно этим, быть может, и объясняется влияние, которое он оказывает на человечество. Не в том дело, что Ветхий Завет предлагает <более правильный> путь или <более правильные> нормативы жизни, а в том, что жизнь, о которой он говорит - настоящая.
