About this product
Russian Russian Artists' Bible with Illustrations unites the best, truly outstanding works of the Russian classical art school of the XVIII - early XX centuries, created on the themes of Holy Scripture and are a great, precious treasure of the entire national culture. The book vividly and convincingly presents the artistic legacy of the remarkable masters of the past, who devoted a significant part of their work to biblical subjects. Among the artists whose creative activity is reflected in the "Bible ..." are such outstanding names as V. Borovikovsky, F. Bruni, K. Bryullov, A. Ivanov, V. Polenov, N. Ge, V. Vrubel, V. Vasnetsov, as well as A. Losenko, N. Chernetsov, A. Agin, A. Ryabushkin and others.
Russian Russian Bible with Illustrations includes the full text of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments in Russian (according to the Synodal Edition of the Bible), accompanied by 250 illustrations placed throughout the book, where each of them is described in detail. This book, without a doubt, will become a monument to the greatness and glory of Russian art, which is rightfully the pride of the Russian State. It should be noted that in the 19th century, the Award Bible was mentioned in the Register of State Awards of the Russian Empire. Russian Russian Artists' Bible with Illustrations revives the long-standing tradition of the Award-Winning Bible, which in old Russia was awarded for special services to the Russian Orthodox Church and the Russian state.
