The famous novel by the French writer Joris-Carl Huysmans "On the Contrary" translated by M. A. Golovkina is rightly considered a manifesto of European decadence at the end of the XIX century.
In this edition, it is decorated with two hundred and twenty color illustrations by the outstanding French engraver Auguste-Louis Leper.
The book is preceded by a preface, published for the first time in Russian, written by Huysmans twenty years after the publication of this novel, which became a turning point in his literary work.
