There is a higher justice in the fact that every human being is mortal – the end of earthly existence is guaranteed to the righteous and sinners, the weak and the powerful, the rich and the poor. The instinct of self-preservation inevitably leads each of us to the same question: to be or not to be after death. What is the inevitable end – the end of the path or the beginning of a new one? There are many interesting books on this topic, and one of them is "Comforting thoughts about life and Death." Very popular in Europe, this book was published in Russia in 1814 under the title "The treasure of the sweetest consolations against the horrors of death or the most elegant way to die peacefully."
Fragments of engravings by Albrecht Durer and letters by Hans Holbein the Younger were used in the design of the publication.
