Leather-bound gift book "A gift for young housewives"

This unique collection of recipes of Russian cuisine was originally published as a manual to help young housewives run a household. The book contains recipes for vegetarian and lean tables, samples of table setting and dishes, and descriptions of various supplies needed in the household. A distinctive feature of this book, in comparison with the previous ones, is an accurate, rather than approximate, indication of the amount of ingredients used. In order to reduce household expenses, the author indicated in all the recipes the exact proportion of all ingredients for 6 people. A graduate of the Smolny Institute for Noble Maidens, Elena Molokhovets sought to help young housewives with a small fortune and moderate expenditure to have a constantly delicious, healthy and varied lunch.

A reprint edition, hand-bound from high-quality vegetable-tanned leather. Classic binding style with a combination of pancake, gold and colored embossing. The design is complemented by richly decorated doublets, composite flyleafs, as well as edged and silk lace dyed to match the binding material. Printed on designer paper "vergeer".
