A century and a half ago, oil in Russia was sold only in pharmacies - it was used to lubricate the throat with sore throat. And today, "black gold" is one of the pillars of the national welfare of a great state. The book contains the entire history of the Russian oil industry, from the discovery of the first sources of "combustible waters" on the Taman Peninsula and in the lower reaches of the Kuban River in the 10th century to the oil boom of the 19th century, which turned Russia into one of the world's leading powers. A special role here is assigned to the Nobel dynasty, whose efforts have transformed artisanal oil production in the vicinity of Baku into a world-class business. The book "Black Gold. The history of Russian oil is unique and has no analogues in Russia.: most of the historical texts and documents included in it are unknown to the general reader. The publication is decorated with rich illustrative material. from gift albums published for various anniversaries of the Nobel Brothers Fellowship, as well as works of classical painting.
