About this product
Art. : 131-835-1

The Kalenda collection was developed in addition to the beloved Scarlett and Azur series, and is aimed at the Mix&Match direction (mix and match), which has become one of the leading ones in modern design. The author has amazingly solved a complex artistic and practical problem: on the one hand, “Kalenda” is an absolutely independent line, at the same time, any item from the new series will become a bright accent addition to previously created collections: so the cold green color of the needles supports the combination with the Azur collection, the spectacular scarlet color of the ribbons is in tune with the Scarlett collection.

The name “Kalenda" is aimed at the international market: in Latin, “calendae” is the first day of the month. This word passed into European languages, as well as, according to linguists, into Old Slavonic in the form of “Kolyada”, where it was most often used as a folk name for Christmas Eve. Thus, the title of the series incorporates images of the Christmas mood and the beginning of a new calendar period. Introducing wreaths of pine branches and ornamental plants with berries into the decor, the author refers not only to the Western European Christmas tradition, but also to the artistic heritage of the Imperial Porcelain Factory, inspired by the compositions of one of the leading porcelain painters of the XIX century, Fyodor Krasovsky. The decor is made in the decal technique, but it gives the impression of hand-painted. Based on fundamental knowledge in the field of design and silkscreen printing, Yulia Chistyakova independently worked on the project from conception to printing, achieving maximum quality in transmitting the finest lines and creating relief.

Among the great inventions of China, porcelain claims to be, if not the most important, then the most beautiful. The secret of making porcelain dishes was kept in the strictest secrecy. Attempts to find her out were punishable by death. However, porcelain, first exported to Asian countries, and by the XVI century to Europe, was valued above gold. Scientists and masters from all over the world struggled to reveal his secret. The complex technology of mixing porcelain mass, which includes kaolin, quartz and mica, and no less complex roasting are just the basics learned from the Chinese. Japanese, Florentine, and Prussian porcelain manufactories added something of their own to this base, obtaining, although different from the prototype, but beautiful porcelain in its own way.
