The founder of the company, the Italian mechanic Onorato Comitti, came to England in 1845. Here he engaged in the production of barometers, and soon his products became very popular in the homes of wealthy Englishmen. In the late Victorian period, the company concentrated on the production of a variety of watches. At the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, the production of English interior clocks reached perfection.
