Elena Vesnina and Ekaterina Makarova are one of the best tennis pairs in the world. Their joint performances began in 2012 during the preparation for the London Olympics, where the athletes were able to reach the quarterfinals. They have many victories and joint titles to their credit, but the main success of the tennis players can be considered the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016. Vesnina and Makarova proved themselves to be the strongest duo at the tournament and rightfully won gold, becoming the first Russian tennis players to ever win the doubles of the Olympic Games.

Ekaterina commented on the joint victory in Rio: "We want to cry with happiness. I've always dreamed of getting an Olympic medal, and finally it happened. We have been through a lot, through injuries and pain, and we are doubly pleased with this victory."

The exhibit is a charity auction lot organized jointly with the T-Shirt Gives Life Foundation.
