Juste Fontaine is a French footballer who holds the record for the most goals scored in a single World Cup - 13 goals in 1958.
Fontaine started his career at the amateur club of his hometown of Marrakech, then moved to the stronger club USM Casablanca, where he played from 1950 to 1953. He played the next three seasons in France. His club Nice won the French Cup in its first season with Fontaines, and won the championship in 1956. In the same year, he moved to Reims, replacing Raymond Kopa, and scored 121 goals in six seasons. In total, Fontaine scored 165 goals in 200 matches in the major leagues, and won the championship four times - 1956, 1958, 1960, 1962.
Fontaine made his debut for the French national team on December 17, 1953, in a match against Luxembourg (8-0). He scored a hat-trick in that game. In seven years of playing for the national team, Fontaine played in 21 matches and scored 30 goals. The last match for the national team was played on December 11, 1960 against Bulgaria (3-0).
After completing his career, the athlete worked as a coach for the French national team. He also coached French clubs and the Moroccan national team.
