Hans-Dietrich Genscher headed the country's Foreign Ministry for a record 18 years and remained the favorite politician of the Germans for many years. A brilliant diplomat contributed to the unification of Germany. In addition, he made his contribution to Russian history: it was he who contributed to the release of the former head of Yukos, Mikhail Khodorkovsky. He was flown to Berlin on a plane ordered by Genscher. The satirical magazine Titanic gave Gensher, modeled after Batman, the nickname "Genshman" - the savior of the world.
Yigal Alon is an IDF general, leader of the Avoda movement, a member of the Knesset and a minister in the Israeli government. Adherents of Alon claimed that he repeatedly missed the opportunity to take central positions in the government of the state. Disagreements with Ben-Gurion in 1949 prevented Alon from becoming the head of the IDF general Staff. In May 1967, he was on a mission to Leningrad, and Moshe Dayan was appointed Minister of Security. In 1969, Alon was a contender for the post of head of government, but lost to Golda Meir.
