Yevgeny Yevtushenko is a Russian poet. He also became famous as a novelist, director, screenwriter, publicist, reader-speaker and actor. He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature (1963).
The letter dates back to 1977 and was sent by the poet to the Bulgarian publishing house Narodna Kultura, namely, to Comrade Antonov. The publishing house itself was established in 1945, specialized in the production of fiction and existed until 2003.
