Wenge chess set "Classic" weighted, boxwood and ebony pieces

This set of chess pieces has its own history. Speaking in general terms, this is our attempt to create a set that will look like a "classic" in the minds of most Russians. The result of painstaking searches for data on "Russian classical chess", collecting criteria and comparing them, was a set of pieces that, with a king height of classic 4 inches, was placed in a 43-centimeter board that was non-standard for such a height of figures. This is the most compact and at the same time the most expensive of similar boards. The figures in this set are really "black" and really "white". The black ones are made of an array of precious ebony; the white ones are made of an array of boxwood. The board in this set matches the figures, it is made of wenge. At the same time, this chess is very convenient to play. The characteristics of this set fully meet the needs of fans of this ancient game:

The figures are hand-carved: the light ones are made of boxwood, and the dark ones are made of ebony. The height of the king is 4 inches (about 10.1 cm). A weighting device is installed at the base of each figure, so that the figure is weighty and lies pleasantly in the player's hand.

The board is made of solid wenge. The board size is 43*43 cm

The field is made up of alternately arranged squares of birch veneer (white cells) and wenge (dark cells). Each field is set manually. The size of the field cage is 46.5*46.5 mm.

The alphanumeric and numeric indexing of cells is applied along the edge of the field.

Inside the board there are compartments for each piece, covered with velvet. The color of the velvet varies depending on your wishes.

Each set is delivered in a cardboard shipping box.
