Chess tells about the ideas of our ancestors about the animal world 15 thousand years ago. The figures are hand-carved from a dark brown mammoth tusk from the Kemerovo region (brown), the pedestals are a section of a mammoth tusk from Yakutia (white), as well as sections of Late Cretaceous dinosaurs from Southwestern Mongolia.

Chess represents the images of the first works of art - scribbles and petroglyphs. Pisanitsy are rock carvings made in ochre. Petroglyphs are images carved on the surface of a stone.
