This is a wonderful set. The figures in this set are really "black" and really "white". The black ones are made of an array of precious ebony; the white ones are made of an array of boxwood. The board in this set matches the figures, it is made of wenge. At the same time, this chess is very convenient to play. The figures are hand-carved: the light ones are made of boxwood, and the dark ones are made of ebony. The height of the king is 3.75 inches (about 9.5 cm). A weighting device is installed at the base of each figure, so that the figure is weighty and lies pleasantly in the player's hand.

The field is made up of alternately arranged squares of birch veneer (white cells) and wenge (dark cells). Each field is set manually. The size of the field cage is 46.5*46.5 mm.
