The Barleycorn style is one of the oldest and most significant in the history of chess. In the 18th century, it became widespread in England, but soon conquered other countries, because Barleycorn-style chess, being an unforgettable and original gift, was often sent by English lords to their foreign friends and political allies. They got their name from the similarity of the middle part of the queen and the king with a corn cob. Excellent turning and delicate carving makes chess elegant, attracting attention with its exotic design. The meticulously and creatively designed shape of the pieces is an additional convenience in the game process, where even inexperienced players understand where the king is and where the bishop or, for example, the rook is. The game is one of the sides of the Barleycorn chess set, the other, no less interesting side is the stylish solution of the chessboard, which preserves the historically sustained shape and convenience of construction. It will harmoniously fit into almost any classic interior, decorating it and giving it a special charm.
