Under this devilishly beautiful name, the protracted struggle of the feudal clans for the English throne was hidden. For thirty years, power was contested with varying success by two branches of the Plantagenet dynasty - the Lancasters (coat of arms with a Scarlet rose) and the Yorks (coat of arms with a White rose). Most of the English nobility died in the feud, and the main representatives of the warring clans died, as a result of which Henry VII Tudor inherited the throne. The proposed set reflects the finale of the struggle - the Battle of Bosworth in 1485. The historical feud of the White and Scarlet Roses on the board resulted in a confrontation between white and red pieces.
