Today, Staunton is a reference style used by chess players both during home games and at world tournaments.
The figures have individual finials. The king has a "crown" with a cross, and the queen has a "crown" with a small ball. Small pawn pieces end with a large ball. The rook is made in the form of a fortress tower, and the horse repeats the frieze of the Parthenon temple, which was built by Phidias in the 5th century BC.
To give the Staunton Favorite chess set a distinctive black and white color, KADUN craftsmen carefully selected materials for its manufacture. For example, the durable case is made of solid field oak, which has a rich black color due to tinting. The dark cells are made of stained ash. They are organically complemented by light cells made of madrona wood, which has an unusual fine-grained structure. The pieces of the chess set are made of maple. The light ones are complemented with white tinting, and the dark ones are black. Letters made in the marquetry technique are located along the contour of the board.
